Quatro Incorporation, doing business as EZ Off-Grid ("EZ Off-Grid", "we", "us", "our"), operates the website ezoffgrid.com and sells off-grid solar, battery, inverter and electrical equipment. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we give it to, and the choices and rights you have.
We are based in California and we sell to customers within the United States.
1. Who we are and how to reach us
Quatro Incorporation DBA EZ Off-Grid
California, United States
Email: [email protected]
To exercise any of the rights described in section 8, email us at the address above with "Privacy Request" in the subject line.
2. The information we collect
Information you give us
When you place an order, create an account, apply for a dealer account, or contact us, we collect:
- Your name, and a business name if you are buying as a business or a dealer
- Billing address and shipping address
- Email address and telephone number
- Account username and password, if you create an account
- Order notes and anything else you choose to write to us
- Payment details, which are described separately in section 3
If you apply for a dealer or trade account, we also collect the information needed to verify that account and to apply the correct trade pricing, which may include your business details, resale or tax identifiers, and the trade role assigned to your account.
Information we collect automatically
- Your IP address, browser type and device information
- Pages and products you view, and the contents of your cart
- How you arrived at our site, including the referring website, the landing page you arrived on, and any campaign tags in the link you followed
- Whether you are signed in, and which pricing role your account holds
We use the arrival information to understand which channels bring customers to us and to attribute orders to those channels.
Information we do not collect
We do not ask for and do not want your Social Security number, driver's license number, health information, biometric data, or precise device geolocation. Please do not send these to us. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, as described in section 10.
3. Payments
Payments are processed by our payment provider. When you pay, your card details are transmitted directly to that provider.
We do not receive or store your full card number. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded or failed, and limited details such as the card brand, the last four digits, and the billing name and address, which we use for order records, refunds and fraud prevention.
Our payment provider handles your payment information under its own privacy policy and its own security obligations.
4. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose it to the following categories of recipients, only as needed to run the business:
Suppliers and manufacturers who ship your order. This is important to understand: many of the products we sell ship directly to you from the manufacturer or distributor rather than from our own premises. To fulfill your order we pass your name, shipping address, contact details and the items ordered to that supplier. Depending on what you buy, that may include Victron Energy, EG4 Electronics, BigBattery, Signature Solar, Seaview, Garmin, Powerwerx or a similar distribution partner.
Shipping and freight carriers, including parcel carriers and freight brokers, who need your address and package details to quote rates and to deliver to you.
Our payment provider, as described in section 3.
Tax and shipping rate services, which receive address and order details in order to calculate tax and shipping.
Service providers who run our systems on our behalf, including our web host, our content delivery and security providers, our backup provider, and our business email provider. These providers may process or store your information but are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
Professional advisers, and authorities where the law requires it, including in connection with tax, accounting, legal claims, or a lawful request from a government body.
If our business is ever sold or reorganized, customer records may transfer as part of that transaction. We would tell you before your information became subject to a different privacy policy.
5. Why we use your information
We use your information to:
- Take, process, ship and support your order, including returns, warranty claims and refunds
- Operate your account and apply the correct pricing to it
- Calculate tax and shipping
- Prevent fraud and protect the security of the site
- Meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations
- Improve our product range and our website
- Send you marketing messages, but only where you have asked to receive them
6. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use them for:
- Keeping your cart and session working. These are essential. The site cannot function as a store without them.
- Remembering that you are signed in and which pricing applies to your account.
- Recording how you arrived at our site, so we can attribute orders to marketing channels.
- Payment and fraud prevention, set by our payment provider.
- Security and hosting, set by our security software and our hosting provider to detect abuse and keep the site available.
We do not currently run third party advertising trackers or third party analytics on this site. If that changes, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, the cart and checkout will not work.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep order records, including your name, contact details and billing and shipping addresses, for seven years, because tax and accounting rules require us to be able to evidence our sales.
Account information is kept for as long as your account is open. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe. Security and server logs are kept for a short period, usually measured in weeks or months, and then discarded.
When we no longer need information, we delete it or anonymize it.
8. Your rights
California law gives you the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we have disclosed it to
- Access a copy of that information in a portable form
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Delete your personal information, subject to exceptions such as records we must keep for tax purposes or to complete a transaction you asked for
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, and we do not display a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link for that reason
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information as that term is defined by California law
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. We will not refuse service, change prices, or reduce the quality of what you receive because you made a privacy request
You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We will ask for proof that you gave them permission.
How we handle requests
Email [email protected] with "Privacy Request" in the subject. We will verify who you are before acting, normally by confirming details we already hold, such as an order number and the email address on the order. We aim to respond within 45 days and will tell you if we need longer.
You can also see and export much of your own information by signing in to your account.
9. How we protect your information
The site is served over an encrypted connection. We use a security service to detect and block malicious traffic and login abuse, and we take regular encrypted backups. Access to customer and order information is limited to the small number of people who need it to fulfill orders and support customers.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities where the law requires it.
10. Children
This site is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly sell products to children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Where your information is held
We sell to customers within the United States, and our systems and service providers are located in the United States. If you access this site from outside the United States, any information you provide will be transferred to and stored in the United States, where data protection law may differ from the law where you live.
12. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. If a change is significant, we will make that clear on the site.
